App Store's 'Purchased → All' tab prioritizes a complete purchase ledger over the practical need for an 'Installed' view

Why does “Purchased → All” prioritise a complete purchase ledger over the practical need to see what’s installed on this device right now?

If users come to the App Store primarily to find, (re)install, or update apps, why isn’t there a first-class “Installed” tab alongside “All” and “Not on this iPhone”?

If “Not on this iPhone” exists to streamline reinstalls, why not also provide “On this iPhone” to streamline everyday management?

How many minutes do typical users spend scrolling through years of purchases to locate one app they vaguely remember?

How might we quantify the cognitive load of scanning hundreds of irrelevant entries vs. a filtered, current-device list?

Wouldn’t a single tap on “Installed” save far more time than repeatedly searching, scrolling, and guessing past icons and names?

f Apple values user time, why is “infinite scroll” the default path for long-time customers?

Why not filter by last used (Today, Last week, Last month, Older than 1 year)?

Why not filter by category (e.g., Productivity, Health, Education) and developer?

Why not filter by purchase window (e.g., 2010–2015, 2016–2020, 2021–present)?

If the system already knows install state and last-used dates in Settings → Storage, why not surface those signals in the App Store list?

Could search suggest apps by function (“scanning”, “habit tracker”) when the name is forgotten?

Shouldn’t past Spotlight queries help rank likely targets higher inside the App Store?

If Settings → General → iPhone Storage can list apps with size and “Last Used,” why is there no parallel in the App Store to speed up management?

If the App Store is where we go to manage apps’ lifecycle, why disperse the core management views elsewhere?

Why penalise loyalty with longer lists and more scrolling rather than giving power tools to tame that history?

If heavy App Store users are your most engaged customers, shouldn’t their experience be the most streamlined?

Wouldn’t fewer, smarter taps (e.g., a single “Installed” tab) improve accessibility across the board?

Could VoiceOver users jump to “Installed” or “Last used” sections instantly instead of traversing dozens of items?

Why not let me filter purchases by account member in a Family Sharing group?

Would an “Installed on other devices” filter reduce confusion and re-purchases?

How does the current UI scale for accounts with hundreds or thousands of purchases?

Is there a reason not to cache and index the user’s purchase library for instant navigation?

Why not surface subscription status or “no longer available” flags with actionable alternatives?

Would clear lifecycle badges reduce dead-ends and wasted taps?

If competitors offer a straightforward “Installed” view, what user problem does Apple solve by omitting it?

If parity here reduces friction for millions, what argument outweighs that benefit?

If Apple knows my install state, last use, and devices, why not give me privacy-respecting, on-device filters that never leave my phone?

Wouldn’t better discovery of already purchased apps (via filters and an “Installed” tab) increase re-engagement for developers?

If users can quickly find and reopen old purchases, does that not improve ratings, retention, and revenue for quality apps?

What prevents adding a third tab: Installed?

What prevents a “Last used” sort option in Purchased?

What prevents by-device grouping (This iPhone / Other devices)?

Should “Purchased” be a museum of everything I’ve ever touched—or a toolbox that gets me to what I need in seconds?

I’ve been an iPhone user since the iPhone 4. My Purchased list is now too long to be useful. An Installed tab would save me time every single day.

Infinite scroll is not a solution; it’s a tax on loyal customers with long histories.

Filters by Installed/Offloaded/Last used/Year/Device would turn a frustrating archive into a practical tool.

Bulk hide and better search ranking are basic quality-of-life improvements that would cut time-to-task dramatically.

The App Store should help me manage my apps as I use them today, not just remind me of what I bought a decade ago!
