I can't add music files to my Music App. I can't follow the recommended solutions.

The error message "The Music Library file cannot be saved. A duplicate file name was specified" appears. Community solutions were to open Home and then Music in finder and delete files. Great. But I get this error message when I try to open Music: "The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “Music” can’t be found."

No advice is given for this problem that I can find on the forums.

What can I do now?

I have a ton of music from my old iTunes/iPod that I would like to somehow save on my new Mac. The iTunes conversion did not go well for me. The only music on my Music App is music I think I downloaded from Apple.
