Slow iPod touch response and missing album art in BMW/iDrive

Ipod touch is slow to respond to steering wheel inputs. Album art doesn't always show on idrive screen. Toggling back to Media with idrive usually gets art back on screen. I have soft reset car infotainment many times. I have restored ipod multiple times. Old (older) ipod worked flawlessly until it bricked.

Any suggestions?
