Missing primary, transactions, and updates folders in Mail on MacBook Pro

On my iPhone mail is distributed to lovely folders like primary, transactions, updates, but I don’t have that in mail on my MacBook Pro. How do I get those folders there? I like that feature.

Try View >> Show Mail Categories

Thanks for the suggestion. There was no Show Mail Categories under View. I checked for that under all other menu headings and subheadings. Same result. Even a search of Mail help for "categories" returned no results.
