Music delay between Apple TV speaker and Home Pod Speakers

When I play music through my Apple TV and have it stream to all home pods there is a delay between the apple TV speaker set and the home pods. This delay is not present when I use airplay directly with all the speakers. It is tied directly to selecting music to airplay through the Apple TV or directly from the Apple TV music. I use a Bose system as my speaker system for my TV and it plays just fine when selected directly as an airplay device synching with out delays on all other selected home pods. Any ideas on how to correct?
