Mac home screen glitching black

I recently came back from visiting a foreign country. I live in the US. Ever since I have been back my home screen has been glitching black but I can still see my folders on the screen. I tried updating and powering down and it’s still happening. In fact I have tons of storage so much that it’s like I don’t even use the computer!
