Speak screen not reading entire page on iPhone 14 after iOS update

I have been using the speak screen feature, by swiping down with two fingers or the little collapsible menu, with no problems at all until I got an iPhone 14 and installed the newest iOS update. Now when I swipe down down with two fingers I get a weird pop-up screen that reads the page vertically and only reads the few words included in that pop-up screen, which is significantly less than what is actually on the screen. On my old iPhone 11, that’s still running an older version of iOS, the speak screen feature reads the entire page and then flips the page and reads the next page. No weird vertical pop-up page that that stops after reading a Few words. How can I get my speak screen to work like it used to because the updated one Is essentially useless?

We all enjoy our comfortable old habits, yet changes happen all around us.

As technology is always advancing and adding more capabilities and functionality, you may need to learn to work with the newest speak-screen features. It may be just a matter of adjusting your settings.

Wondering whether you are using an iOS18 or iOS 26 version in order to assist.

Keeping iPhone updated to the newest available iOS versiion often side-steps issues.

Eg: For iOS26: the latest version is iOS26.0.1

Or For iOS18: the latest version is iOS 18.7.1

All the best :-)
