Favorites Bar in Safari Keeps Reverting to Original Favorites

Hi, I'm setting up my new MacBook Pro laptop. I added a bunch of new sites to my Favorites bar in Safari and organized them into Folders so that I can see my most frequented sites in my Favorites bar at the top of my window. But when I quit Safari and open it again, all my Favorites are gone and the bar reverts back to the original Favorites that came pre-added with the laptop (Apple, iCloud, Yahoo, Bing, etc.).

I try adding my Favorites back in, but they always disappear and revert back to the original Favorites after I quit and re-open Safari. Does anyone know how to get Favorites to stay as the ones I set myself?
