tccd uses 30% of the CPU when some specific Pages documents are opened
Sometimes the Mac has the efficient CPU used a lot. After a while I've figured it is when some of my documents are opened in Pages.
2 processes use a lot of CPU:
- tccd uses up to 30%. Usually it is at 0% when those documents are not opened.
- Pages also uses CPU, from 8% to 15%
This is seen in Activity Monitor.
Here is a sample message in the Console App:
AUTHREQ_ATTRIBUTION: msgID=3172.311621, attribution={accessing={TCCDProcess: identifier=com.apple.iWork.Pages, pid=3219, auid=506, euid=506, binary_path=/Applications/Pages.app/Contents/MacOS/Pages}, requesting={TCCDProcess: identifier=com.apple.CloudDocs.iCloudDriveFileProvider, pid=3172, auid=506, euid=506, binary_path=/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CloudDocs.framework/PlugIns/com.apple.CloudDocs.iCloudDriveFileProvider.appex/Contents/MacOS/com.apple.CloudDocs.iCloudDriveFileProvider}, },
After several different message, the last one is
[0x85f09ae40] invalidated because the client process (pid 3172) either cancelled the connection or exited
The program with this pid is still running it is:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CloudDocs.framework/PlugIns/com.apple.CloudDocs.iCloudDriveFileProvider.appex/Contents/MacOS/com.apple.CloudDocs.iCloudDriveFileProvider
The whole messages cycle start again in the same order, with the one about pid 3172 as the last one before yet other loops.
This problem started probably in macOS 14. It is still there in macOS 26.
I don't know if this is the right place to report this issue. I usually report system bugs in Apple Feedback.
Thank you.
