Is there a keyboard shortcut to access system settings?

The mouse died and I need to access Systems Settings so I can pair a new mouse. How can I access Systems Settings without a functioning mouse? Is there a Keyboard Shortcut to do so?

iMac (2017 – 2020)

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Yes there is.

Here is what you should do

  1. Press Command Space
  2. Search Settings or System Prefences
  3. Now do your task. Navigate using the tab, or arrow keys. Search using your keyboard.

Unfortunately, these are the only solutions you could try while waiting.

Regards.

Is this an Apple mouse? If so, connect the charging cable and plug that into that Mac to pair it. (Details)

Alternatively, does control-F2 or control-shift-F2 get you to the Mac menus? Then use the arrow keys to navigate, etc. (This as described in the first link. See the section there “Navigate the menu bar with your keyboard“.)

Another possibility is tapping the option key five times. That can trigger the mouse keys mode on many systems, and you can navigate as described in the last of the links above.
