Messages keep muting between iMac, iPhone, and iPad

My messages keep muting between iMac, iPhone and iPad. The iWatch does not seem to be impacted. I have turned off "Hide Alerts", reset Contacts and the problems persist. Any ideas of what to try next? I am reluctant to do a system reset.
