TV app wont play some downloaded content, but will play it as stre

I have some movies in the TV app that I purchased (from apple) a while ago. These movies are downloaded onto my Mac Studio's hard drive.

When I try to play them, the window pops up for a second and then disappears. I have tried De-Authorizing and Re-Authorizing and it doesn't make any difference.

However, if I remove the download, and click on the movie, it plays perfectly fine (steaming I presume). I prefer to have downloaded copies of my movies so I can watch them without using the internet, however I can't get them to play when downloaded.

I have a similar issue. I purchased a TV season and all the episode titles downloaded into the TV app on my MacBook Pro. Then I authorized my wife's computer so she could watch them on her own. Her computer doesn't have enough free space, so I had to stop downloading the episodes. Then several episodes disappeared. All I want to do is start over, download the episode titles so she can stream them from the Apple TV app. But there seems to be no way to do this and all I can figure out is for her to access the store each time and stream the episode that way.
