Why are songs from new album grayed out in smart playlist?

iMac Mid-2011, Mac OS 10.13.6, iTunes 12.8.3.1

Bought an album from the iTunes Store today, Oct 11, 2025, but after downloading it to iTunes, it showed up in the playlist grayed out and an unknown icon appears beside each song. Scrolling through the playlist shows several other songs in the same way but these were added in October 2014, January 2024, & April 2025. Here is the weird icon between the playlist number and title of the songs:

The entire entries are completely grayed out across the screen and if I click on them in the playlist, they don't play. However, if I click on them OUTSIDE the playlist they do play!

So any idea what the dashed circle icon means and what may be the problem(s)?
