Set Up M4 MacBook Pro, Mac OS Sequoia 15.7.1

Hi, I just bought an Apple Certified Refurbished 16" M4 MacBook Pro to be used with an external keyboard, mouse, and 28" monitor, along with other accessories, all connected through a hub that feeds a vertical dock that holds the MBP in the clamshell mode. Can anyone help me with the OS settings that will allow me to "wake up" the computer by pressing the space bar on the external keyboard while it's in that mode? I've had issues in the past where it would wake up briefly, but go back to sleep.
