File drop down menu won't stay open

For example, when clicking on Bookmarks menu in Chrome, drop down menu won't stay open. Likewise, when executing command-space for spotlight, spotlight window won't stay open.

Right clicking on a folder will open folder, but window won't stay open. In all above cases, window closes within a short variable amount of time.

Also, right-clicking on link, drop down won't stay open. And so on and so on.

At times I have been able to fix temporarily by removing "Full Disk Access" from various 3rd party Mac utilities such as Mac Pilot. Also by removing such utilities from "open at login."

Problem will randomly return after software updates or sometimes just restarting.

Install EtreCheck and post the report. Allow Full Disk Access.

A menu item from any application, or Finder should remain open until the next mouse click or keyboard input. The Spotlight dialog is dismissed with a mouse click outside of it, or by pressing the ESC key.

I don't remember anyone's report exceeding the character limit using Additional Text. Perhaps if there is some rogue character in the report. Don't know.

Did you add the text like this:

Copy the report

and after clicking on the Reply button use the Additional Text button to paste the report in your reply.

I've never see a report that exceeded the character limit in Additional Text.

Maybe you mistakenly tried to paste into the title area of the box? I have never seen an Etrecheck report not fit into the additional text. In the main reply or the title of the additional text, it is normal.
