Unintended Apple Pay transaction on unknown item

I didn’t know I had Apple Pay, but it came up to pay with something that I was getting with Apple Pay so I clicked it. It paid it I think and I don’t know where it paid it from or what the item was..

In order to authorize an Apple Pay transaction, you must double click the side button, and the charge will be billed to the default card in your Wallet used for Apple Pay. You can view the default card used for Apple Pay at Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Default Card. You can view transaction details on that card by going to the Wallet app on your phone, where it will show the merchant name and amount.

Apple does not know what items you purchase with Apple Pay, that is something only the merchant that you authorized to pay with Apple Pay would know.

After reviewing the default card used for Apple Pay, go to your Wallet app and view the name of the merchant on that card. If you do not know what you bought contact the merchant. A charge will never happen by simply tapping a button on the screen. Along with choosing the Apple Pay option on the screen for your payment method of a purchase, it would require you to double click the side button to authorize the charge.

That’s a phishing attempt from scammers and its literally been reported 100’s of times if not 1000’s.

Apple would never contact you. Your bank (issuer of card) would contract you. Banks do the exact opposite of the message you received. If they suspect fraud the transaction is stopped immediately. You have to call to verify the transaction, not call to stop the transaction.

“Don't answer suspicious phone calls or messages claiming to be from Apple. Instead, contact Apple directly through our official support channels.”

”To report a suspicious SMS text message that looks like it's supposed to be from Apple, take a screenshot of the message and email the screenshot to reportphishing@apple.com.”

You can report phishing at these links and most importantly your local law enforcement.
