The ability to make a Vertical workspace in FCP is already there:
1) Configure the workspace to your taste
2) Save your vertical workspace and name it
It will appear as an option in the available workspaces under the Windows menu for you to use when needed
Instructions on how to configure your workspace at
Change the workspace layout in Final Cut Pro for Mac

I appreciate the response but doing this will not suffice. I need apple to get with the program and drop an update and make a proper vertical editing workspace layout the same way adobe and davinci have already implemented.
This is a user to user forum, Apple only monitors these forums for violations of terms of use. To let Apple know what you want, use Feedback:

Do you mean vertical Project? It's there when you first create a Project.

No, I mean a vertical editing workspace layout like Adobe and DaVinci have for editing vertical projects.
Would you mind clarifying what constitutes a vertical editing workspace layout?
