Safari can’t open the page b/c it couldn’t establish a secure connection

When I get messages from a subscription with a shortened link, such as from tinyurl, I get this message. I can go to the website by typing in the full address, this just happens from links they send. I have read and tried all I can find, but still no luck.


This happens on my phone as well.

iPad Air, iPadOS 18

As with so many great ideas, "TinyURL" appears to have succumbed to the apparently irresistible siren song of monetization — a euphemism that translates into selling you, as a product.

Safari implements a number of privacy features that actively thwart such attempts, which probably explains the reason it's not working.
