Making a phone call on iMac

Yay! At last there is a phone app on the iMac so I can make calls from it via my iPhone.

My job involves making lots of phone calls to companies that advertise online. Some of them very kindly have their phone number as a clickable link which is now simple to call them from.

Those that don't - I can copy their phone number but, unless I'm going blind, I can't see a way to paste the number into the phone app on my iMac? Do I really have to key the numbers into the keypad that pops up on screen using mouse? Is it that archaic? Surely there must be some way to be able to paste a number to call?

If the phone number is clickable all you need to do is click it. No need to open any apps.

Example:

A Notification will appear confirming your request. Click Call.

Use iPhone to allow calls and text messages on your iPad and Mac - Apple Support explains how it all works but you don't need to review that entire lengthy document. Two clicks and you're done.

If the phone number is not clickable (some websites haven't caught on yet) then copy and paste it into FaceTime: Get started with FaceTime on Mac - Apple Support. Scroll down to Make a FaceTime call.

If I'm not mistaken and the app behaves as the iPhone does, then you can click the 'invisible' field that lies half-way between the top of the numbers and the top edge of that dialer window, then paste in your copied phone number. No need to key it in manually.

You can locate that 'invisible' field by typing on the keypad. The numbers should display in the field I am referencing.
