app specific password generator is stating incorrect password

after logging into my apple account (account.apple.com) I am opening the generate app-specific password section. A box appears asking for name of the account (in my case I enter Outlook) and a password which I assume is the same password I used to enter my Apple Account, so I enter that. I get an "incorrect password" message. What is the solution, I prefer not to change my apple account password.
