MainStage and logic pro detuning

I am using both Logic pro and MainStage. If I load either of them alone things work fine, but if I load one after the other (I use logic for backing tracks) two things happen:

Firstly, there is an orange microphone icon at the top of my screen which flashes and the system emits audible clicks through my audio interface. Sometimes this stops but often I have to play a note or two on my audio keyboard for it to stop.

Secondly, I often find that patches selected through MainStage are de-tuned relative to the audio input that’s coming from my keyboard. I have seen similar issues on the forums but they seem to be closed so hence I am opening another one.

There is nothing untoward coming through the midi monitor that accounts for the detuning.

After a couple of attempts of closing things down and restarting it tends to work but I have not found a pattern, or a solution.

Does anybody have any suggestions, please?
