Lightning Adapter to HDMI/USB for iPhone Air ios 26 not working

Bought the new iPhone air and my lightning adapter to HDMI/USB no longer works. Please help. This is the only way to connect to the Sony TV I am using. Help greatly appreciated.

Not surprising since the iPhone Air does not have a lightning port...

I do not believe the iPhone Air supports video output via the USB-C Port.

I suspect you're right that iPhone Air doesn't support Video out via the USB C port.

I dug a little deeper in the iPhone Air vs iPhone 17 Pro vs iPhone 17 Specifications.

iPhone 17 Pro

  • Supported formats include HEVC, H.264, AV1, and ProRes
  • HDR with Dolby Vision, HDR10+/HDR10, and HLG
  • Up to 4K HDR AirPlay for mirroring, photos, and video out to Apple TV (2nd generation or later) or AirPlay‑enabled smart TV
  • Video mirroring and video out support: Up to 4K HDR through native DisplayPort output over USB-C or USB-C Digital AV Adapter (model A2119; adapter sold separately)

iPhone 17

  • Supported formats include HEVC, H.264, and AV1
  • HDR with Dolby Vision, HDR10+/HDR10, and HLG
  • Up to 4K HDR AirPlay for mirroring, photos, and video out to Apple TV (2nd generation or later) or AirPlay‑enabled smart TV
  • Video mirroring and video out support: Up to 4K HDR through native DisplayPort output over USB‑C or USB‑C Digital AV Adapter (model A2119; adapter sold separately)

Note that iPhone Air seemingly does NOT support HDMI Video Out. It is an AirPlay device, which is likely going to be a disappointment to the author of this thread.

You're right. It does not support it. Thanks!

You're welcome. Maybe it's time for a TV upgrade? AirPlay is so cool and easy. I've never output my phone to my TV via HDMI, because AirPlay just works.

That said, there are apps in the App Store, you may be able to download to your phone, which might stream to your TV if your TV is a Smart TV with Wifi.

I can't vouch for this, but you might want to look at this --> https://www.airbeam.tv/
