Airpods Pro 2 case continuously flashing amber, unable to factory reset after updated

Hi there,

I am facing an issue with my Aiprods Pro after the latest update(Update to iPadOS26, MacOS Tahoe).

To describe the issue more precisely: The LED indicator on the case of my Airpods Pro 2 when the lid is open continuously flashes in Amber. This leads to the case losing it's full charge in less than a day, which was not the case before the update.

The Firmware version on the Aiprods is: 8A356

I have tried to factory reset my AirPods Pro 2 by first unpairing them from my devices. After this I checked if they were still visible in FindMy, which they were not.

After which I proceeded with the instructions posted on this page: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

This did not yield any results. No matter how long I keep the button pressed on the back of the case, the LED indicator will not change its color from amber to white.

I have tried the following things, also without any results:

  1. Letting the case the AirPods completely discharge, and try the process again
  2. Tried the process describe in the link above with the case connected to a charger

A few details to the OS version my devices have: iPadOS26, MacOS Tahoe, and iOS18.7.1

Looking forward to your help.
