Email address assigned to the Apple Wallet on my account keeps changing

For some reason, Apple Wallet keeps changing the email address assigned to the Apple Wallet on my account, on my MacBook. I have to admit, it's shocking and inexplicable.

Even though I change the email address back to my own, after some random time—usually after a few minutes—the email address changes again, and it shows my wife's email address. Pattern of action just like some computer virus...

She also has an account on my MacBook, but it's a SEPARATE account, and is in no way linked to my account, much less my Apple Wallet (!). What's going on here?

I have found a solution - changing the settings on account/apple.com - but everything is correct there. Only my email everywhere, on my contact card on my apple account. But for some reason, for some wicked twisted reason, Apple Wallet every few minutes puts my wife email TO MY Apple Wallet.

On my iPhone I have no issues. But on my MacBook I have to open settings every few minutes and change email - this is outrageous.

OMG the last hint - BINGO.

My default language is polish and this is not exactly the same path, Its not exactly shipping Address, but underneath is another bar- Email field, so slightly different. Sorry for miss translation. So for me it was something like that:

Settings->Wallet and ApplePay->ApplePay default settings->and on this screen you have option fields like - default card, shipping address, email and phone...

AND ONLY HERE in the whole apple ecosystem, only here - you can actually see whole history(?) of emails - click on email and then - you see the whole list of emails WITH EDIT option. This precious edit option which you miss on MacBook! From this screen finally I was able to delete my wife email address and leave only mine.

The mistery for me is only one thing, why AppleWallet on ma MacBook was picking all the time my wife email as default even when I deliberately set mine (and for example iOS didn't try to change it on my iPhone, - only macOS on MacBook). Anyway, I deleted her email so that stupid macOS do not have it anymore in the pool. And why her email was even visible on my user account. My wife is a total noob I have to explain her everything there is no way she could type anything on my account.

I don't get it, but it is a scar on apple ecosystem which is great and I love it, but this issue was mind-blowing.

Jeff - thank you 👍

I get it that you’re upset and no offense, but very little of what you wrote makes any sense to me. Sorry. I don’t work for Apple and while I can understand and accept the frustration, it doesn’t help my understanding.

Sorry, I take it your ME contract cards are each correct, labeled properly and in proper order in the app?

Your first sentence in your original post speaks of an Apple Wallet email address. There is no such thing as an Apple Wallet email address. At what specific path are you viewing the incorrect email address?

yes of course, is there another way? I have to log out, so she can log in to her account.

I have to say… I'm stunned by this because I can't explain it logically. Especially since I recently reinstalled the system, carefully and slowly configuring every detail. Finally, I added my wife's user account using her Apple ID, everything as the book says. When I noticed that for some reason the system had inserted my wife's email address into my wallet, my eyes popped out of my head. And when I started changing it to my email address and the system corrected it back to my wife's, I thought I was going to fall out of my chair.

I have no idea even how to correct this. Where to look 😒

When I was searching for an answer on google, - have found this tip. I’ve checked what you wrote. Everything is filled correctly on my contact card. Only my @ address. I’ve heard about safari cache which is absurd but I’ve cleaned cache anyway.

I posted here because I ran out of ideas from Google.

I have iphone, my wife as well, and I have a macbook Air. That’s it.

I have to say, that It’s really, really bizarre that data from my apple wallet is changing dynamically based on what @ is on my contact card or safari cache, or anything else than datapoint there BY MYSELF. Can you imagine apple wallet can change your credit card number, because system saw some random numbers somewhere on my contact card, or change my Apple Wallet location address because system took some adress I was typing for some other purpose?

Ok, firstly thank you for your time, I appreciate your effort.

Let me be more specific. In your macbook settings You have Wallet, and on Wallet card you can add credit card and below you have additional info about your home adress credit card type, and - email adress. And this field of email adress is the source of my frustration.

On my macbook I have my account (my apple ID) the same account I’m signed in on my iphone. I’m the main user and Administrator as well.

And I added on my macbook- second account - my wife apple id account (she is already on my family group)

Just added another user In this case my wife apple ID…. That’s it. Nothing more, no other devices, no messing around with strange settings. Simple stuff.

I would like to clear some cache maybe something is refreshing wrongly, but have no idea where to lookup

OK, this is more sense now thanks. I’m going to think about this and experiment with some changes using my wife’s account.

in the mean time, here’s some places to check.

Each card also has an address associated with the account. Please follow this path;

iPhone > Settings > Apple Account (Your Name at top of screen) > Payment & Shipping > tap card to edit > tap Billing address > tap edit (upper right corner of screen) edit necessary changes

iPhone > Settings > Apple Account (Your Name at top of screen) > Payment & Shipping > Shipping Address (edit or delete address)

iPhone > Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Transaction Defaults (scroll down) > Shipping Address > Edit (upper right corner of screen) > either Enter New Shipping Address, add new address or edit/delete addresses
