The screen mirroring option for the AppleTV HD has disappeared from the M1 Max Mac Studio and the M1 Max MacBook Pro all after updating to MacOS 26.
It retains my iPad but not the AppleTV. All on the same wifi network.

Alternatively, you can use a wired connection by plugging an HDMI cable from your Mac into your TV.
The current stable release of Tahoe including bug fixes, security updates is macOS 26.0.1
