Garageband input sounds terrible on main account but works fine on new user account.

I've been using GarageBand with no problems before, and one morning it randomly stopped working (any input I capture, no matter through what sounds terrible and picks it up very poorly). I've been losing my mind trying to solve the issue for literally weeks and I feel like I'm going insane. I am using MacOS 15.7. When I try capturing audio through anything else except GarageBand, like Voice Memos it sounds fine. I tried reseting all the preferences, I tried deleting and reinstalling GarageBand, I tried moving the "com.apple.garageband10.plist" file outside of GarageBand files and I've literally tried out everything I found on the web. When I created a new user account, GarageBand worked fine but I don't want to switch to a different user account on my brand new Mac just for GarageBand.
