Unintentional phone calls from Contacts in macOS Tahoe
In Contacts in macOS 26 I keep accidentally calling people. In the past I would have to click dial or something. Now it just dials phones without clicking a phone number, is there anyway to stop this behavior, I am calling people at 2:00 AM. It also starts ringing before anything is on the screen. I have no idea what I did to initiate the call. I simply went to a contact to copy the name and I am now dialing that person at 2:00 AM...
I called the same person 5 times, I had no intention of calling the person at all.
It is ironic, because iOS has introduced methods to prevent this, where macOS introduced a new way to accidentally call people.
Also, if you click on missing emoji(initials of the person), and then cancel it goes into edit mode. Once you choose an emoji for the contact this behavior goes away. Sometimes if you clock those initials at the top it dials the number.
Also, the text is much smaller now.
Also, I thought there was a way to copy fields without editing them, especially the name field. If you want to copy a phone number you have to dial that number.
Also, right clicking or Control Clicking the message icon shows phone numbers that are not related to the current contact actually control clicking shows the phone number from the next contact on the list.
All of this happened as soon as I attempted to use the contacts app for the first time in macOS 26.
By the way, I'm thinking this app has been completely rewritten in Swift. I think all complete rewrites are being done in swift now.
