Apple Pencil Pro Not Charging via Magnet After iPadOS 26.0.1 Update
I am experiencing a critical issue with my Apple Pencil Pro after updating my iPad to iPadOS 26.0.1, and I would like to report it here hoping for a solution or official acknowledgment.
1. The Problem:
· My Apple Pencil Pro does not charge when attached magnetically to my iPad.
· It shows no battery percentage in the Widget or in Settings.
· The Bluetooth connection seems OK (it shows as "Connected"), but charging remains inactive.
2. Crucial Detail for Troubleshooting:
· The Pencil itself is functional. I confirmed this by testing it on a friend's compatible iPad, where it charged perfectly.
· This confirms that the problem is isolated to my iPad after the system update.
3. Steps I Have Already Taken (Without Success):
· Restarted and force-restarted my iPad.
· Removed all cases and cleaned the magnetic connector on both devices.
· "Forgot This Device" in Bluetooth settings and re-paired the Pencil.
· Updated to the latest available version of iPadOS.
· Reset All Settings on my iPad (this was the most in-depth step).
· Tried charging with the iPad itself connected to a power adapter.
4. My Environment:
· iPad: iPad Air 2025 13-inch (M3)
· Apple Pencil: Apple Pencil Pro
· iPadOS Version: 26.0.1
Given that the pencil works on other devices, I believe this is a software bug introduced in iPadOS 26.0.1.
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone from the Apple team or the community could:
· Confirm if this is a known issue.
· Provide any potential fixes I might have missed.
· Inform us if a software update is being developed to address this.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
