Can't transfer photos ios26 to Mac

Try if it works with Image Capture.app. Sometimes resetting iPhone network settings is reported to help. Don't use any 3rd party virus apps or "cleaners" because they often corrupt the system.

I had the same issue. I haven't been able to fix it, but I did find a workaround- repeatedly close the Mac Photos app (CMD + Q), reopen it, and re-click on your phone in the sidebar. If it gives the same message, try again... quit Photos, reopen, and click your phone again in the sidebar. Sometimes it takes quite a few attempts (10-15) but it's never failed to eventually load the pictures.
