Three-finger swipe not working on Mac running macOS Tahoe

Is 3 finger swipe dead in Tahoe? So frustrating.

up down, left or right...(?) what are you expecting it to do exactly. Avoid conflicting gestures


You can make changes to your Settings and compare your results


>System Settings>Trackpad

>System Settings>Accessibility>Click Pointer Control>Trackpad Options


Turn OFF/PN “Use trackpad for dragging” (or “Enable dragging”).?

if you toggled changes, then come back to your preferred setting to test, and no insight or resolve

A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

 


—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account. 


unplug all non-essential peripherals when testing

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS
