how to find the real page number on Book app?

Hello, I’m writing an academic thesis and, in order to do so, I’m reading different books I had the chance to find online. However, since I need to quote some specific parts of them, I’d need the proper page number I would find in the physical books. Is there a way to find the proper pages? Thank you

Re: how to find the real page number on Book app?

As far as I know, the only way is to check the quote in a physical copy of the book , eg: maybe from a library. In the e-book we can skip back or forth to find the chapter heading that quote resides under, and estimate roughly where to find the quote in that chapter, and particularly if it is not easy to find the quote from the index.

Being able to search the e-book for words or phrases outweighs the inconvenience of the flexible page-numbering for me, especially if a hard-copy is on hand.

The only other thought is that there are online archives of books that are based on page photocopies, so may have correct page-numbers intact. Some such sites are free to access.

Else: An astute librarian may have tips.

Just wondering: A search for its ISBN often lists "number of pages" that book has. Haven't tried the (impossible ?) task of "re-sizing" an e-book to have the correct / matching number of pages.
