iCloud Syncing across MacOS and iOS

Hi,

Facing issues related to iCloud Sync on a Messages, Calendar and Call logs on my Macbook Air and iPhone 15+. Both are updated to latest version of MacOS/iOS 26.0.1.

I have to manually delete messages on my macbook air since it won't update and be consistent with iPhone. Calendar events won't sync on iPhone unless I open the Calendar app on the phone. Call logs on FaceTime app won't update and it keeps showing the notifications as missed calls on mac.

The issue seen on Message was also there on the last iteration of MacOS 18. I reached out to apple support and they suggested me to sign-in and out of iCloud on both devices which I did but the issue still persists.

Has anyone been able to resolve the issue?

Cheers,

Rishi

Further observations:

  • The sync function on iMessage works only after I go to settings>iCloud>messages and then click on Sync Now on both the devices, first on iPhone then Mac.
  • On Mac the iMessage won't sync for days, mind you I use my macbook daily which is connected to internet 10-12 hrs a day.
  • Calendars app takes a min to sync events/reminders on iPhone. Unless you open the app, the widget on the iPhone won't update with events/reminders.

Is there a way to fix background syncing without having to trigger it manually by opening the apps or clicking on Sync Now?
