Removing 'Recently Saved' bookmarks and expanded descriptions in Safari on MacBook Pro

I'm using Safari Version 26.0.1 (20622.1.22.118.4), MacBook Pro 2020.

How do I remove "Recently Saved" bookmarks , and the expanded versions of bookmarks that aren't in folders?

The "Recently Saved" bookmarks is a privacy issue. Here's an example: I'm helping my parents with estate planning, and I saved a few bookmarks on this topic. If I'm using my MacBook and showing another person something on my screen, I don't want them to see this information. Why should I have to stop what I'm doing and hide things that weren't visible before?

I read another post about this issue advising that "Recently Saved" bookmarks could be deleted via the reading list. The kicker - my entire reading list was deleted as well. Perhaps that was my error, frustrating though.

I can delete the expanded version descriptions one by one, but there must be an easier way.
