Email app not refreshing on iMac

I have an iPac Air 5th Gen, an iPhone 13 and an iMac. Email appo works flaulesly in the iPhone and iPad but in the iMac 7 out of 10 times I open the email app it does not refresh and I have to "QUIT"the app and open it again and then iot refreshes perfectly. It's nop big deal but kind of annoying to hve to do it when I never have to do it with the iPhone and iPad. I have been using both iPhone and iPad to check my mail even when I have an almost $3K iMac sitting oln my desk. Same network, 1GB connection speed..... any suggestions?
