Recording quality from iPhone via QuickTime

MacBook Air M4 15

On macOS Tahoe, the recording quality from iPhone via QuickTime (New Movie Recording) has noticeably worsened compared to previous versions of macOS. The video is less sharp, heavily compressed, and there is no option to export in 4K, even though the iPhone is capable of providing a 4K stream.

It seems that in the new version of the system, the way the video stream from the iPhone is processed has changed — either resolution limits have been introduced, or stronger compression is being applied. Please restore the previous level of quality or provide users with the option to select the stream parameters.
