Higher than normal battery drain is normal and to be expected after an upgrade of the iOS. There are many processes running in the background indexing, syncing, updating and more. If you have an Apple Watch there’s health data to sync and Apple Intelligence is its own syncing and indexing.

This sounds normal and should be finished in a few days. Make sure all your apps are updated to latest versions too.

Hello,

I am using an iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 26.0.1.

After updating to iOS 26, I noticed significant battery drain compared to iOS 25.

  • Battery Health: 100%

  • Normal usage: Social media, camera, browsing, no heavy gaming

  • Issue: Battery drops unusually fast (e.g., ~10–15% per hour with light usage).

  • Temperature: Sometimes the phone feels warmer than usual.

  • Tried already: Optimized settings (disabled Background App Refresh, managed Location Services, reduced widgets, reset all settings, updated apps). But the drain continues.

I want to know if other iPhone 16 Pro users are facing the same issue after iOS 26/26.0.1, and whether Apple is aware of this bug.

Thanks!
