Possible bugs and interface problems in Tahoe's Music app

Two weeks after updating to Tahoe, I am still struggling with a few things in the Music app.

  1. The first few milliseconds of many tracks get clipped.
  2. The ability to highlight a group of tracks in an individual playlist and see precisely how long that group selection would take to play seems to have vanished. Now the only timings are the length of an individual track or the total for the entire playlist.
  3. The big one, however (at least for me) is the weird design decision to float the playback controls over the bottom four lines of the playlist. Actively obscuring information while leaving an ocean of white space at the top makes no sense to me. An option to revert to the sensible design of MacOS 18 would be welcome.

Perhaps I am missing settings somewhere deep in the app to fix these issues, so if anyone can guide me, I would be grateful.

I have managed to fix one issue: every track's metadata (number of plays, when last played, and such) was not updating. I have managed to fix this by checking Use Listening History in the settings.

Mac Studio, macOS 26.0
