Was the Compact Tab Layout in Safari removed in MacOS 26?

It appears they removed the option to change the tab layout entirely. Before you could chose between separate and compact layout. Now they kept only separate. The compact tab layout was one of THE major advantages Safari had over other browsers, since it allowed for more vertical space of websites to be shown, which is very practical since websites have more vertical content than horizontal. I tried everything to find it, but it wont show up. Have you an idea what could be the issue here?
