Can’t connect properly my AirPods with phone

I didn’t use my AirPods for few months, yesterday I tried to connect but first one pod didnt work, even though it shows on screen as fully charged, so I tried to reconnect as instructed , and now it won’t work properly at all.

it somehow connects to my phone, and then right after I open the case and take 1 pod it disconnects automatically. Please help me

1. My AirPods and Phone are fully charged
2. I reset them both several times
3. I did press forget the device several times
