Quicken 2004 for Mac & M4 iMac

Believe it or not, I have been able to use my Quicken 2004 for Mac, albeit on an old, well outdated Mac.

Is there any way I can move / run my Quicken 2004 for Mac program on my new M4 iMac?

Even if I cannot enter any new data, just the capability of being able to read / review the years of data which exists in the program would be wonderful.

Not likely, why don't you update your version of Quicken to a more up-to-date version. Your version is VERY likely a 32 bit app and Mac OS has not been able to run 32 bit apps for close to a decade. That means must update or convert from Quicken to another app such as Banktivity.

When you get your M4 iMac migrate your data from your Time Machine backup and purchase the current version of Quicken Deluxe

It will run on Tahoe 26. It's a subscription based app (yearly) but you don't have to keep up the subscription as long as it's working for you. It started out at $60 per/year and after 6 years it's $80. It has many new features from the old version I was using. It's really worth the money.

If you'd like to save some money on your M4 consider the following: a 10 Core Mac Mini M4 with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD ($999 + tax) with a 27" LG 4k monitor ($250 + tax from Amazon.com)  is $1249 US + tax which is $560 less than a similarly configured new 24" iMac ($1799 US + tax)  re 07/2025. Keep your keyboard and mouse from your current Mac for use with the Mini.

I got the above Mini with a 32" LG 4K monitor w/speakers for only $60 more than the 27" (didn't know the Mini had a speaker) but still $540 US less than the M4 iMac. It's a terrific machine and setup.

Thank you! I appreciate your time.

As I recall, I tried updating to a newer version a few years ago but that updated version would not run on my older Mac which is also from about 2004.

How would you proceed now? Install a Quicken update first on the M4 and then try to import the Quicken 2004 into it? Or, some other way?

Also, any suggestion you might have as to which Quicken version would be best for me to use would be much appreciated.
