Neat Video Pro v6 Rendering Issue After Upgrading to macOS 26 and Final Cut Pro 11.2

After upgrading to macOS 26 and Final Cut Pro version 11.2, I have encountered a rendering issue with Neat Video Pro v6 on a MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max (24-core GPU). When applying the plugin, the output renders only as a red layer or a transparent layer. Neat Video is the most professional denoising plug-in for Final Cut Pro, as discussed here: Best Video Noise Reduction Plug-in for Fi… - Apple Community

This occurs both when applying Neat Video to a 4K Compound Clip and when applying it directly to a 4K MOV file (Panasonic G9, 25 FPS, 10-bit, 150 Mbps).

I would like to ask if other users who also own Neat Video Pro v6 are experiencing the same issue?

Steps to reproduce:

1 - Apply Neat Video Pro v6 on macOS 26 in Final Cut Pro 11.2.

2 - Result: red screen or transparent screen.

  • Expected result: The video should render normally with Neat Video applied.
  • Actual result: The rendered output is either a red screen or a transparent screen.

Any confirmation from other users or suggested workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 26.0

Thank you joema for your reply and help. Running the Neat Video Uninstaller from the Apps-folder, then removing all ABSoft and Neat Video folders from the Library folder, and then downloading the latest version from the ABSoft Neat Video website and installing it solved the problem, thank you! :) Hopefully in the future there would be a Neat Video updater application available that can update the plugin automatically, most plugin providers have that kind of app, I always forget to download new updates from the website for Neat Video since it's kind of a tedious process. I was running version 6.02 or something because it never prompts me to update... 😳 Anyway, I still love Neat Video and use it pretty much daily.

I tried several Panasonic V-Log 4k/23.98 10-bit 4:2:2 150 mbps clips on my M1 Ultra Mac Studio on Tahoe 26.0, FCP 11.2 and Neat Video 6.06, without seeing any problem. I then updated to the current version of Neat Video which is 6.08, ran the tests again, and still didn't see anything.

I suggest you do the following:

  • Update to the current version of Neat Video which is 6.08.

  • Verify you are on Apple Pro Video Formats 3.0. OPT+Apple icon at upper left>System Information>Software>Installations, scroll down to Pro Video Formats. You should be on 3.0. If not, go to System Settings>General>Software Update, let it finish checking for updates, and see if it needs installing.

  • If it's already installed, reset FCP settings by launching it while holding OPT+CMD. You'll afterward have to restore your preferred custom settings in Final Cut Pro>Settings. Afterward try your scenario on that.

  • If it still happens, create a new blank FCP library, import one clip and try Neat Video on that.

Post your results and we can discuss further.
