How do you hide a Mac OSX v10.11.6 Start up disk
I've bought an old iMac with it's password but although I can see the Start Up Disk in Setting I can NOT see it in Finder!
Where and how do I uncover it and use it to store some of my files?

Have you tried clicking on the Finder icon next to the Apple icon on the top left hand side of the Desktop? You should see a Settings menu which when opened up gives a list of items on the Desktop. Make sure Hard Disks option is ticked.

What is the exact model of this Mac? You can get this information by clicking the Apple menu & selecting "About This Mac".
You should create a bootable macOS 10.11 El Capitan USB installer now while you still can do so. Once we know the exact model of your Mac, then we know if the Mac is able to support any later version of macOS.

Serial Number: V*******F.
Once in Desktop there is no Finder Icon and no hard drive listed
As for Kel's instruction to "Finder/Preferences/General just check the [show] Hard disks checkbox":
In Finder there's no Preferences but in the Settings Icon in the Menu bar:
General has NO Hard Disks item!
System: OS X v10.11.6!
