Adobe Photoshop issues after macOS Tahoe installation

I would give anything the go back in time two weeks and not install that OS. Nothing but trouble, and be aware that you can no longer back install to past OS. Particular problems with Adobe, especially Photoshop. Apple keeps pulling my warnings about this without explanation. My Apple Care is current, and I need this solved.

Please download and run Etrecheck.  The free version is sufficient.

Copy and paste the results into your reply. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC and recommended by Apple Support  to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.

Copy the report

and after clicking on the Reply button use the Additional Text button to paste the report in your reply.

Check Etrecheck's Privacy settings and make sure the checkbox for full disk access before running:

Then we can examine the report and see if we can determine the cause of the problem.

Interesting discovery this morning. When I'm working with photos, I almost always open the file from Bridge. This morning, I rebooted and launch PS but did not launch Bridge, opened two jpegs from the finder instead, and PS is so far behaving normally. Haven't worked with this much, but did some generative expand and cropping and so far so good. Could this be a Bridge problem, and do you have any recommendations for me?

Sure sounds like a Bridge issue (?)

the advise is the same, for your third party app search the developers website if in doubt.

Run Etrecheck and paste the full report in your reply as outlined in my post above.

Do you have any external drives? If you do are you using it for the cache/swap files for Photoshop?

If not how much free space do you have on your boot drive and how much RAM do you have?

Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?

I am experiencing general slow performance in opening files and then it is showing up as a long lag when using a tablet. I am using an Xeance Labs tablet and updated drivers to 1.3.5-89. It seems to be a brush compatibility issue as I can select different brushes with lower point numbers like a smoke brush and the lag is not always present. However when I use the pressure sensitive brush for opacity and flow the brush strokes appear about 1-2 seconds after I have painted. It also seems to not be accepting the pressure sensitivity. While this is a photoshop thread I am also experiencing significant slow downs with Lightroom and copy and pasting settings between images that I have never experienced before.
