Apple Music App suggestions (on Windows)
I'm not sure if Apple actually reads anything in here, but I have some suggestions regarding their Music App on Windows (not sure if the apply to Mac OS, but maybe they would be useful too).
I'm moving away from Spotify (as a consumer and artist), and decided that Apple Music was the best next alternative, since I already own a few iOS devices. My workstation, however, is a Windows 11 machine. I am really grateful for the content migration tool recently added (to move all my saved playlists, albums and songs from Spotify over to Apple Music). However, there are certain things I find myself missing when comparing the Apple Music Windows App to the Spotify Windows App.
- I would really like the Music App to have a "Launch on Startup" option, so it starts automatically when I boot my computer.
- One of the features I miss the most is the ability to have the Windows App connected to my iOS app in the sense that both know exactly what I'm playing, no matter where, and I can have the app continue playing on a different device. I usually wake up and start playing music on my iPad, and would love to continue playing whatever album or playlist I was listening to on my workstation once I log in just by selecting "Play on (device)" like the Spotify app does. I have heard that this somehow works on Mac OS, but leaving Windows users behind might make some people look at other services instead (just saying... a lot of people are trying to move away from Spotify, but have a hard time because of some of their features).
- This is a minor thing, but the ability to customize playlist covers gives Spotify a more creative look. Apple Music's UI looks... kinda boring, TBH. I know Apple maybe wants to avoid the app suddenly looking like MySpace (for those who remember), but music IS creativity. I'm a very visually-inspired person, and these things make the experience a bit more enjoyable.
- Lastly... please, DO NOT ALLOW AI-generated music onto the platform (or if you do, CLEARLY label it as such). I am not interested in consuming anything of the like. This is one of the main reasons I'm leaving the dumpster fire Spotify has become (plus many other just as bad). I know this is not related to my OT. Apologies. Just had to underline it.
Thanks a lot in advance!
