When I try to download songs from the crowd or songs I purchased from the iTunes store I get the same error messages.

Purchases will eventually download, sometimes it can take days. Songs in the cloud, seem to never download. I don't have any connection issues. I'm on the same network with the same software, but now I'm having these problems. I've rebooted and the itunes is up to date as far as I can tell.

I would also suggest turning off the Simultaneous Downloads option. You can see the option in your second picture. From my experience, trying to download several files at once can cause issues, especially when your internet connection is slow (as can happen sometimes, even with a normally fast connection). Although the error code I've had is 3259, when looking them up on Apple, their links for 3259 and 3253 both take you to the same page. Turning off Simultaneous Downloads means that each file is downloaded separately, thereby eliminating delays to downloads caused by other files downloading and using up all the capacity of your internet line.
