Finder Sidebar icons for SSDs shows wrong icon
I am running Tahoe for my MacOS. In the Finder Sidebar, the icons for my external SSDs are appearing as Hookmark icons rather than a SSD icon. How do I fix this?
Mac mini, macOS 26.0

Hookmark is an app that is installed on my computer. The only way to get rid of the Hookmark icons is to go to System Settings > Extensions > Hookmark, and then click the "i" button (information). Then turn off "File Provider" and then relaunch the Finder. As you can see from the screenshot below, turning off the File Provider disables the ability to "see local files and remote storage files in one view in Finder." It's not the end of the world by disabling that, but it would be nice if I didn't have to disable the Finder Provider feature in Hookmark.
I realize I can also hide the icons of the SSDs in the sidebar, but again, that's not really fixing the root problem.
You asked if this affects performance in any way. No, it doesn't; it's just a little bit of a nuisance.

I have the same Issue but with the Icon of the Supercharge Extension, which is also a File Provider Extension.
As soon as I deactivate the extension, the icon is displayed correctly again.
So to me, it looks like this is a bug, because MacOS Tahoe appears to be incorrectly using the icon of an installed extension for all mounts.

Odd, they show as drives for me.
Try relaunching Finder – press and hold the Option key then secondary-click (control-click, two-finger click) on the Finder icon in the Dock, then select Relaunch (bottom option).

I make no apology for suggesting relaunching the Finder in my first post above. Easy enough, no harm done and does sort anomalies with Finder.
However, in your case with your added information & screen shots— I will say I can not account for your third party app.
If there is interference here with normal operation I would suggest you contact the developer assistance—
if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates…

Screen shot certainly would help clarify the situation what it is you see ....
Drive icons have been upgraded in Tahoe yes, but with your limited information it is hard to speculate here.
where Locations?
not sure what is Hookmark icons ?
Does this effect performance in any way?
Relaunch the Finder and compare your results...

Yup, but for me it's BetterTouchTool:
seems like it's a bug in the Finder grabbing some random app icon instead of the volume's own icon. restarting finder, rebooting the Mac, removing and re-adding the icon doesn't seem to help.

My fault, I had thought Hookmark was a typo (Bookmark), not a the correct spelling of an extension that seemingly needs to be updated for Tahoe compatibility.
Whatever is displayed in the Tahoe Finder sidebar, you cannot change its image anyway. All of my mounted SSD drives display in the following representation:

I have the same problem, except the icons that show on my external drives are for a photography app called DxoRaw.
I just updated to Tahoe 26.0.1 and that didn't change anything.
Same problem here, but with the New File Menu app...
