Hello, disabling Siri doesn't fix a software bug in iOS 26. I managed to overcome it in the following way: 1. Remove HomePod mini from the Home app; 2. Reset HomePod mini to factory settings https://support.apple.com/uk-ua/108389; 3. Reconnect HomePod mini in the Home app. When connecting, be sure to specify that the speaker is in a different room than it was previously specified. If it was in the living room, specify the bedroom.

You can send feedback here where one of the options is to Report a Problem. This will be reviewed and if it is determined to be a bug in the OS, then you can expect a fix in an update.

Feedback - HomePod - Apple

If you prefer immediate support, then you can contact Apple here. For a bug in the OS, it is likely that they are already aware of it. Don't be surprised if the agent is not able to specify a release date of a fix or even confirm if it has been identified as a bug. Also it can be repetitive as they will likely have you do the same steps you have already done, like the factory reset, but that is the process they have to go through. The goal is to get to the end of the process where all the steps have been followed and without a resolution then a Support Ticket may be opened or a callback scheduled by an Engineer for follow up.

I’m experiencing the same issue. I have two HomePod minis, but only one of them is affected. It will randomly start playing music, stop, and then start playing again. I’ve already adjusted the touch sensitivity and even had to turn off “Hey Siri” because it was triggering random Siri requests. Both HomePods are fully updated, but the problem only occurs on one of them, so I’m not sure if it’s related to the latest update.

Hello, I don't know how to solve this software error, since I don't use AppleTV. Try resetting to factory settings and reinstalling, specifying a different room for the location of AppleTV and HomePod, i.e. instead of the kitchen, specify the bedroom. On the HomePod mini, this was solved by the arbitrary playback of music from the Apple “Music” application and Siri.

Thanks Mac Jim,

I’m done some cursory troubleshooting, including modifying the accessibility options to prevent false inputs and repetitive inputs, this didn’t resolve my issue. Then I disabled siri, because it appeared she was being activated with no input given by me or anyone else. In doing so Siri no longer activates, but the music still starts and stops intermittently.

Ill report the problem to Apple.

I’m having this exact problem. My Apple Music Station keeps playing randomly on the HomePod we have in the kitchen - the initial software update to iOS 26 seemed to fix it, but then there was another update this morning which triggered it all again. I’ve updated to the latest iOS on all of our HomePods, and the Apple TV which acts as the Home Hub, and it’s still randomly pinging random tunes. Very infuriating.

HomePod mini plays music automatically, and Siri turns on randomly without asking.
