Bluetooth audio drops iPhone 17 iOS 26

iPhone 17 running iOS 26

After pairing Bluetooth with my JBL go 3 I get a lot of audio static and audio drops.

deleting and forgetting then Repairing and changing resetting network settings has made no difference. I also factory reset the speaker.

Also, when initially attempting to pair with my Ruark MR 1 speakers it took a very long time to see the speakers and then to pair I’ve had occasional dropouts.

I’m assuming there is a bug with iOS 26 rather than with the iPhone 17.

Both speakers worked perfectly with my iPhone XR and the previous version of iOS.

Update : connected phone to a Mac and checked the console.

RSSI is strong, so it’s not a signal issue.

A2DP packet flushed: Audio Queue full

Write in progress (status=65535)

These indicate the iPhone is filling the Bluetooth audio buffer and dropping packets, which explains the static/dropouts.

This looks like an iOS 26 A2DP bug specific to certain speakers (e.g. JBL Go 3) on iPhone 17 hardware, not a general Bluetooth or Wi-Fi interference issue.

Thank you. I’ve just tested using iPhone 13 mini running iOS 26 playing back on the JBL Go 3 and that works fine.

Also, no problem playing back audio from my iPhone 17 to very old Skullcandy S21KW Ink’d Wireless (neckband / in-ear) headphones.

Could be an issue with the new N1 chip in the iPhone 17 and specific speaker models?

I guess I could get the iOS 26 beta
