FaceTime photos between devices on cloud not saving

I have checked settings, checked for updates, synched over and over, restarted devices. I’ve done everything I know to do so that I can take FaceTime photos on my Mac and access them on my

phone. Nothing is working and I’m extremely frustrated that I’ve had to jump through so many hoops for nothing. I don’t understand why this isn’t working when I’ve done everything Reddit and Apple results have told me. I need an actual solution.
