iPod Touch wants to sign in to iCloud

Here's my problem I posted before but the mod put it in Apple music and it's really not about Music.

I have an old iPod Touch 5 32gb from 2013 with all my music on it. Before I got it I spent 3 days downloading all my CDs 1,400 songs to my Windows computer to load on the iPod. I turn it on once in a while to listen to my music. But now it just keep asking to sign into my Apple ID or iCloud or iTunes account over and over so I can't do anything. I enter my Apple password but it doesn't do anything and sometimes says it is wrong. I've tried turning off the WiFi and try to close Cloud, etc.

I did get my iPod working enough to listen to music BUT I can barely move around, it keeps popping up the Sign in to iCloud box every 5 seconds after I cancel it. So I have to be fast to scroll around my music.

If I try sign out of iCloud on my old iPod will it just sign out of that device or all my devices? Or any suggestions what to try?

Thanks for any help

Hurray I fixed it!!

I read that my iPod needed ios 9.3.5 to use the verification passcode from my iPhone. I was on ios 8.4.1. So if anyone else needs help and finds this…….

1. Updated iTunes on my Windows 8.1 pc to 12.10.11.2

2. Restarted computer and opened iTunes

3. Plugged in iPod. iTunes automatically asked to update iPod! Waited though all the steps. Needed my iPhone to get verification code etc.

As a bonus after my iPod restarted iTunes asked if I wanted to import the pictures! YES!

Whew!
